This week, it was announced that Tradesales, a national heavy-duty storage, workshop equipment and relocatable site solutions manufacturer, will receive $90,000 in Government Funding through a RED Grant to construct dedicated office facilities at their factory at Avon Industrial Park.
Six Wheatbelt projects will share $573,500 in funding under Round 6 of the Cook Government’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants program.
The RED Grants program is investing $50.85 million over nine years towards locally-driven projects to stimulate economic growth and build resilience in the regions.
“We moved into the Avon Industrial Park in October last year, and currently, our office workers operate either in a temporary space at the facility or at other locations in Cunderdin and Perth. With the support of the Wheatbelt RED grant, Tradesales aims to address these challenges and attract highly skilled workers to the Wheatbelt,” said Tradesales General Manager Ben Judd.
The project involves the construction of modern offices equipped with dedicated meeting rooms, workstations, collaborative areas, and essential amenities. By unifying the workforce, the new offices will facilitate communication and foster worker collaboration, enhancing job performance and efficiency.
“The project aligns with the economic development objectives of the Wheatbelt region. It diversifies the industry by investing in manufacturing capabilities, attracting skilled workers to the region, and showcases Tradesales as an exemplar of regional business investment,” continued Mr Judd.
Alongside Tradesales, successful projects in Round 6 will diversify the agribusiness and tourism offering in the Wheatbelt, increase the availability of industrial land, and support the expansion of childcare and construction services in the Wheatbelt.
“The successful Wheatbelt RED Grant applicants demonstrate the growth and diversification of the Wheatbelt region over the past few years,” said Regional Development Minister Don Punch in a media statement.
“Spanning childcare, tourism, agribusiness, construction, and land development, the Wheatbelt RED Grants will enhance local services along with employment and training opportunities.
“These Grants demonstrate the Cook Government’s commitment to supporting economic development opportunities in the regions.”
